And So It Is Done

Posted by turquoisefloyd on June 10, 2006

I completed my first draft of World Two yesterday afternoon and I'm currently printing it out. It ended up just over 54000 words, which isn't bad but again, it's annoying that it took me so long to finish it. I followed the same pattern as last time with World One – I wrote a goodly amount then procrastinated for several months, then slowly built up over the course of about six weeks and got to within that stone's throw of the end… then finished it in a hurry. 3000 odd words yesterday.

Now I'm printing it, I've noticed that I've repeated myself a couple of times, but that can be fixed in the second draft. Which will probably take me until Christmas to write! But yay. At least I got this draft in the can.

The World Tour: An Update

Posted by turquoisefloyd on June 4, 2006

There’s a new entry for the Uganda stop on my World Tour of Reading (Not The Town!) on my creative writing journal. Go see! Go see!

In other news, I’m within a stone’s throw of the end of my novel but I can’t claim that I know what I need to do to reach my planned end of the novel. It’s funny how things don’t turn out how you first envision them, isn’t it?
