ABOUT SEVEN WORLDS
The title of this seven novel trilogy is SEVEN WORLDS WILL COLLIDE. And some of you will be wondering why I chose this name, some of you came along after I began working on “Seven Worlds Will Collide” and won’t have a clue what it’s about.
So here’s a short FAQ. (The Pythons used to do short films to explain things – time to move into the modern age!)

Can you give me a succinct description of Seven Worlds?
Seven Worlds is a series of seven novels about the end of the world.
Why Seven Worlds and why seven novels?
Seven Worlds Will Collide is a lyric, taken from Distant Sun by Crowded House. I’ve been a fan of the ‘House for a long long time. I’ve seen the front man Neil Finn live twice – once solo at V2001 and once with his brother Tim at Ipswich Regent last October with my ex bf the Jimster. Seven Worlds because I have plots for five separate novels and two more novels which combine different characters from the previous five. Each novel has evolved from an old writing project which I’ve played with at some point over the last 11 years, which is when I began my first novel. It’s a story arc. All the novels link together but it’s not obvious unless you’ve read all of them. Or at least, that’s how I’m planning it.
So what are these little posts that litter the journal on the front page of this site, all under the banner of Seven Worlds?
Notes. Brain farts. Character development. Ideas I wanted to play with. There’s more of them to come.
Tell me a little about each novel.
World One is my “Darth Floyd Novel”. Darth Floyd has been around since my Yahoo Clubs days in 2001. I’m working on this now and have completed a first draft. Darth Floyd has her own journal at
darthfloyd.
World Two involves characters from what some might recall as “Any Colour You Like” which I originally came up with and created on LJ in 2002. It’s basically ordinary lives in a simple country town community, where something rather alien occurs, although I’ve yet to thrash out a full plot for this. You may catch me referring to this as Moseley Road.
World Three will be the story of Phil, 300 Car Parks Man who appears initially in World Two. He is a prophet who will try to save mankind from itself. He also hooks up with Sylvia Plath from an alternate universe, who is on a mission from Comedy.(Did I ever mention that Douglas Adams is a huge influence?)
World Four is God’s world. I wrote a 30,000 word draft of a novel about God but hadn’t got a clue what to do with it. The Jimster has read it and given me feedback but once I get onto World Four I’ll just rewrite the whole thing and solve all flaws.
World Five is called “No-one Butters The Toast Like You” and is based on a pair of characters who I’ve had kicking around for well over 10 years now. My best friend was involved in their creation. If I say “Earth Abides”, then three other readers of this journal will know where I’m at but to put it basically it’s how these two characters cope when civilisation crumbles. I’m dying to write that one, it will be huge fun.
World Six is the first of the novels to bring them all together, it’s called “The Geometry of Dreams” and is based on a short piece about an old hermit guy living alone on a planet. World Seven develops this theme. I have very little on either of these two yet, but I have Worlds enough and time. The end of the world may come. I’m not sure yet.
Is it meant to be funny?
Of course it is and I’m offended that you might think otherwise!!!

I hope that clears some stuff up. I shall try to make it clearer as to which world a character belongs to, when I write about them, but a lot of the time I just like to have this space to thrash out ideas.
If anyone has any other questions, don’t be afraid to ask.
