The Poet’s Biography.

 

What can be said about Turquoise Floyd that hasn’t been said already? Many things my friend. Many things.
She writes.
Many English words in many varied sentences.
She was born in the Earth year 1642
in a small wooden shack on the cold side of Pluto,
clutching a quill pen and a bottle of ink.
Much surprise was in evidence,
particularly from the being who gave life to this remarkable publication.
Much could be said
about the years between then and now,
but Turquoise herself prefers to leave it unspoken.
So much happened, so little is recalled.
And yes, that is her real name.
If she was born with another name, she can’t remember it.
She sings punk anthems for a copper or two on street corners,
performs acts of mindless stupidity at the drop of a hat
and will break dinner plates for cold hard cash.
Her favourite comedian is Paul Merton.
